Cause:

• Spraying pressure too low
• Viscosity too high
• Spraying technique
• Application temperature
• Use of thinners which is unsuitable for the conditions in the spraying area
• Insufficient sanding of the substrate
• Paint materials not mixed properly

 

Prevention:

• Follow closely the mixing and application recommendations of the Protec technical data sheets
• Prepare and sand the substrate correctly

• Avoid painting in extreme temperature and humidity conditions and select the correct thinner for the existing spraying environment

Rectification:

• In minor cases, sand and polish
• In major cases, sand down to a smooth surface and respray using the topcoat adjusted to suit the existing conditions
